Bridging the Cost-Carbon Divide: IBM Apptio Roundtable Series Unites IT, Finance, and Sustainability Leaders
Clutch partnered with IBM Apptio to deliver a two-city roundtable series in Sydney and Melbourne, bringing together leaders across IT, finance, technology, and sustainability to explore how to align cost optimisation with carbon reduction—and make sustainable IT a strategic business priority.

The Brief
As part of their market engagement strategy, IBM Apptio partnered with Clutch to convene a senior leadership roundtable series that addressed one of the most pressing questions facing technology and finance teams today: How can organisations reduce IT costs and emissions at the same time? The goal was to foster candid, peer-driven conversations across disciplines—without a product-heavy agenda.
The Work
Clutch and IBM Apptio designed a peer-led experience in two cities:
- Sydney at O Bar and Dining: A high-floor venue overlooking the city, ideal for deep strategic discussion.
- Melbourne at Jayda: A premium, intimate setting for cross-functional collaboration.
Each roundtable brought together a carefully selected group of senior leaders across technology, finance, ESG, and sustainability roles to share how they’re applying FinOps and GreenOps principles to drive impact.
The Outcome
Sydney Roundtable: 19 senior attendees from brands including Optus, Endeavour Group, NSW Health, Domain, AMP, and ANZ Bank.
Melbourne Roundtable: 14 senior attendees from brands including AGL, Kraft Heinz, ANZ, Epworth Healthcare, and Silverchain Group.
