Modern Infrastructure, Smarter Observability: A National Roundtable Series with SUSE
Clutch partnered with SUSE to deliver a three-city roundtable series in Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne, bringing together senior IT, cloud, and engineering leaders to explore how organisations are modernising infrastructure, managing complexity, and using AI to transform observability.

The Brief
To deepen engagement with technical decision-makers across Australia, SUSE partnered with Clutch to host a national roundtable series focused on the most urgent infrastructure and observability challenges. The goal was to create a space for open, peer-driven discussion—where leaders could explore practical strategies for modernising legacy systems and leveraging AI in complex, distributed environments.
The Work
Clutch and SUSE designed a premium, city-specific experience for each audience:
- Brisbane focused on infrastructure resilience and legacy transformation for IT leaders.
- Sydney and Melbourne brought together cloud and engineering leaders to explore observability frameworks, AI integration, and cost optimisation.
Each event was structured to encourage honest dialogue in an intimate setting, with hand-picked senior attendees and no product pitches.
The Outcome
Brisbane Roundtable at Blackbird: 10 senior IT leaders from organisations including Rio Tinto, Arrow Energy, Queensland Police Service (QPS), and Kaplan.
Sydney Roundtable at Otto: 12 cloud and engineering leaders from Atlassian, Optus, Nine, Hub24, and Superloop.
Melbourne Roundtable at Eureka 89: 17 leaders from Commonwealth Bank, Seek, Macquarie Group, Monash University, and JB Hi-Fi.
Event Highlights
Brisbane Focus: Modernising IT Foundations
- Building a Resilient Tech Stack to mitigate vendor lock-in and adapt to shifting pricing models.
- Modernising Legacy Systems without disrupting critical operations.
- Aligning IT with Business Goals to support transformation and growth.
Sydney & Melbourne Focus: Evolving Observability
- Transforming Observability with AI & Predictive Analytics to proactively identify issues and optimise system performance.
- Streamlining Workflows to Reduce Alert Fatigue and improve incident response.
- Balancing Innovation and Cost in building scalable, future-proof observability frameworks.
Conclusion
This national roundtable series with SUSE provided a high-value platform for IT and engineering leaders to share insights, challenge assumptions, and build stronger strategies together. From legacy modernisation to AI-powered observability, each session helped move the conversation from complexity to clarity—and reinforced SUSE’s role as a trusted partner in infrastructure transformation.
